Subject: AC Bypass IP: Logged
Message: Hi,
I have a 96 Dodge Dakota and the AC compressor has gone out. I do not wish to replace this. Is there anyway I can use a different belt and bypass the compressor? Will I need to remove the compressor for this to work?
Thanks,

Message: Just buy the belt for the non-A/C equipped version of your truck, and unplug the compressor.

Message: you really don't need to do this unless the clutch is stuck on, then you might. If the clutch is not stuck on the pully free wheels and does not draw any power from the engine.
