Subject: Drive line vibration IP: Logged
Message: I'm curious about my 2001 Dakota 4x4 with a 3.9 at around 50 mph I notice a slight drive line vibration when under load if I take my foot off the peddle it disapears and as soon as I load it up it is back?
The dealer tells me it is normal and nothing to worry about.
Has any one else had this and how was it cured?

Message: Had this one my 1988 Dak. Played around with different tire air pressure setting. Found as long as I had 33-35lbs pressure I have no vibration. Anything below or above it the vibration comes back.

Message: Have The Tires Rebalanced If That Does Not Cure It Go To Your Local Drive Shaft Shop And Have Them Rebalance Your Drive Shaft And Check Your U Joints Lose Joints You Can Tell If They Are Bad But Tight Ones Are Harder To Trouble Shoot. Make Sure You Can Get Grease In Them. Hope This Helped

Message: You can also get vibration if the drive shaft was isntalled inproperly.
If u pop under ur truck u will notice that at your rear diff u can position the drive shaft multiple ways.Try diff positions on jack stands to find the one that doesnt vibrate.(use some blue thread locker when ur done)
While its on jack stands u can tell if ur tires are badly out of round just in case thats causing it.
