Message: no dude, thats downshifting, i ride dirtbikes and on a bike when i shift i just hold the gas wide open, thats what they are talkin about, but i think that would be way to devistating on a cars drivetrain.

"Good luck doing it Joe M.'s way. It can be done if you match rpm and speed to the next gear (the syncro's help too), but you can hardly call it "Power shifting""
and we're misinformed? Balls!
ya know i have not once jumped on someone but yet your doing it to me?
i;d like to know what race experiance you have?
as for me grandfather, father & uncle myself and a few cousins one of which who went prostock nhra b4 damn parkisons destroyed him.
the question was what is
not should i
and first is maybe they call it different where you come from but for us power shifting is "just that" powering it through the gears with "NO" use of clutch! can you do it with modern trannys hell i wouldnt know and that wasnt what the question was
when we raced munc. T10's aka. stone crushers
you banged the bitch through the gears with a ever so slight let up on the gas pedal!
and hey guess what smart guy, never missed a gear!
as for using the clutch fast and slight during the shifts (as we called flashing the clutch)
it was speed shifting!
so howz about you stuff that in your pipe and smoke it!
