Message: yeah daddio I got the automatic (naturally). I was just outside checking out possible angles of attack and I think the wheel/fender well is the answer. Thanks for the tip though! I owe ya one. (now let's just pray that when I put it on there tomorrow that the crank sensor is the problem!)

Message: i found the easy way to attack the sensor is to stand on the framerail inside the engine compartment and lean over and go behind my egr fitting with a t-handle...tho you wouldnt have the egr. i still havent figured out how i plan to unplug the sensor tho

That has pics that will show you where the crankshaft position sensor can be found...and how I got to it. That's if you have an auto...manuals I guess are in a different spot.

Message: Sorry about chimming in here guys, but what exactly is the Crank position sensor mod, that I've been reading about. I just put a 92 Magnum v6 in my Gen I Dakota, and I think this mod may help out. I'm running JBA header, free flowing cat, flow master 40 series, underdrive pulleys, krc 210 cam, double roller timing chain, mopar performance pcm (92-93 v6), auto lite 3923's,Accel cap and rotor,180 tstat, FMS 19# injectors, and a custom valve job on the heads. I'm trying to squeal as much hp out of it before I put on the v8 tbi, and bottle feed her. Help with this question is appreciated.

Message: You move the positioning of the sensor and it adds a couple degrees of timing...hence, more power. Move it the wrong way and it retards the timing...which would suck. lol
