Subject: Why does just one back tire spin.

When I spin out only one back tire spins, is this normal for a 3.9l v6 2001 rc, I hate it I want both tires to spin is there a way to fix it, like taking it to the dealer or something. And getting a new back end or putting in a new part.

You have a Limited slip differental in the rear end.. its meant for traction..
not all rear ends you get is gonna spin both tires.. you have to get a posi rear end to do that.. i feel that if you take it to the dealer just so you can spin both tires they might laff at you.. not to be mean or anything but they just may say that..

You have an open-differential, which means only one tire spins while the other goes along for the ride. A limited-slip, also known as "Suregrip", spins both rides when traction is lost (simply put). You can have a limited-slip unit installed, but price depends on a few variables. You can purchase a limited unit from a few companies and prices range from 200-400+. If you do decide to purchase a unit, it would be the perfect time to get 3.91 gears. You either have 3.21s or 3.55s(should say in your glovebox), so the new gears would give you much better acceleration off the line. Just giving you something to think about.
