Message: I seem to have a electrical problem. I had to jump start my 1994 Dodge Dakota. After changing my battery my radio, dome light and the light ring around the key does not work. I have checked all fuses and they are okay. I have been told that the computer needs to be reprogrammed. I thought the computer would reset itself with driving. Is there any computer code for this problem and how do I retrieve it.

Message: I was doing some work in my truck and hung a drop light from my dome lightbulb (I know I know, stupid idea) And it shorted something out, and I am having the exact same problem you are. I can't wait to hear the response for this problem.

Message: The comp will reset after so many starts or by
disconnecting the batt and holding the key all the
way to start for 30 secs
It does not need to be reprogramed thats bull
check all your grounds also behind the pass side
kick panel remove, remove the bolt on dash to
body sand between and reinstall bolt this is how
the dash gets its ground

try pushing the door button in and out several times or twist back and forth, bad contact[its in front on door jam post]
on the driverside, behind kick panel theres a bolt with several wires thats the ground for the dash, this may be a little loose

Message: Could be a wire in the dash is pinched/damaged. After replacing the heater core in my '95 that happened to me - dome light didn't work, no power to radio. Dome light / radio run off the same fuse (12). Tested fuse and it was good. Had to rip apart dash and unpinch wire.

Message: I checked the fuse under the hood. It was blown, now radio and lights work great. Its the 5 amp fuse, thanks for the help guys, I never would have thought of looking there since it doesnt say anything about radio or lights, I believe its labeled "ignition draw" or something like that.
