Message: Hi Everyone,
Well, i've been looking at my first mod to the Dak when i get back to work this christmas- most likely a new intake system. What i need to know is...will i suck too much crap up into the engine thru the big cone filter when i go offroading, fishing, and that kind of thing? I bought a K&N yesterday, put it in the stock airbox, and the butt dyno registered a noticeable difference, what else can i use between the airbox, and the top of the engine to replace that ridged piece of tubing?
Sorry to ramble on, just tryin to decide what to do.

Message: a cone filter should filter just fine no matter what the conditions. as for the tube between the box and the TB cap, you can pick up a piece of pvc piping at any hardware store and cut it to fit, then just clamp it on.

Message: I'll have to go get some pipe and do that this weekend maybe. The K&N made a noticeable difference at the 'butt dyno'....wonder if it would show up on a real dyno? I've been lookin at takin that tubing off between the tb cap and airbox for several months, just wasn't sure what to buy to replace it with.
Thanks!!

Message: take a look at my site, http://frontpage.tripod.com/fijigabe0
i noticed that the PVC created too much turbulence for the air to flow through (too much squeezing to get the air to flow) so i went with 3" stainless tubing... it make ONE HELL OF A DIFFERENCE IN POWER OVER THE BOX!
again, check out my site... its got all the details on there.
