Subject: error code 41 IP: Logged
Message: I have a 93 dakota that wont start. It reads error code 41 (Problem with charging system. This occurs when battery voltage from the asd relay drops below 11.75 volts)Would this just be a bad battery? Someone told me to check the crank sensor could this have anything to do with it? thanks for any info

Message: you might try a different battery and see if she starts. you may have like it says "a problem with the charging system" maybe your alternator isnt charging and you are running off the battery. you should never drop to 11.75 volts. normal batterys at rest should be 12.6 volts and my truck runs at about 16 volts when running.

Message: Does it crank over but not start? could be many reasons: coil, rotor, cap, pickup coil, crank sensor, a fuel issue... the list goes on. I believe that if the crank sensor is bad it will set a code.

Message: it cranks over fine but i dont get any spark or fuel, I replaced the battery and terminals, cap, rotor, and pickup coil, and i also checked the common splices that go bad. Now i get a code 11. Aloso the check engine light never came on so i dont know why i get different codes.I also noticed that the positive terminal has blackend like theres a short somewhere.
