Message: Well what happens sometimes is when I start my truck sometimes after starting it just stall unless I put it in to gear and move an inch. After that I can put it back into park or any other gear and it will run fine. When I went to get an oil change I was talking to he mechanic and he said its most likely some kind of safety switch.

Message: the mechanic is full of it, it is your idle air control motor. i had the exact same problem, start the truck starts up dies...start again dies, start again, put in gear and get on it a bit runs fine....yeah definetely your iac. you can take it off and clean it carefully with carb/intake cleaner or get a new one. its on the very back of the throttle body held on with two torques screws
