Subject: Tires for a 3.9 5spd 4x4 CC w/ 3.55 IP: Logged
Message: My '03 Dakota came stock with 265/70/R16 tires. I'm looking to get a set of summer tires and a set of all terrain tires for it. I'm looking for handling, acceleration, and highway mileage out of the summer tires and snow and mud traction and biggest size for the all terrain tires. What recomendations would you make? I don't want to spend a lot of money but I don't want crap. Whats a good value?

Message: Go to tirerack.com. Select a tire, any tire.
Then click on the Surveys.
They have a great selection on surveys, based on
customer's opinions.
I just bought a set a Kumho passenger tires (based on the surveys) for
my 94 Dakota sport, and they are the best, and
least expensive tires I have ever had.

Message: The best all-round tire you could get would the the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO's. You get great mileage from these tires even though they're all terrain tires. You can put a 31x10.5x16 on your truck. That's close to the equiv of your stock tires.

Message: I got the best tires ever! I live in FL and it's always raining during the summer, and I'm always driving through sand or grass etc. so I need A/T's. Anyway, I got a set of Futuras! The line that Pep Boys carries, and get this, they're called Dakotas! Sweet!! They're great A/T's and they were on sale for about 70 bucks a piece! I have a 4x4 and I fit the 265-75-16's with minimal rub in super tight parking lot turns.
