Message: what all do they have on the 87 that is computer controlled, i know its carbed so what does it do? it probably is compatible with an 88 and i would say hit the local junkyards

Message: The '87 is not likely to be compatible with the '88's...'87's had a spark control computer which does very little except to compare engine parameters to a list of parameters and then control the carb mixture. Most '88's were TBI and had a completely different computer to control the fuel injection. Your ignition module is built into the SCC so you have to change the entire unit. I'm looking to ditch mine completely and substitute mostly MSD components. Good Luck on your problem.
