Alrighty...I have a 2000 3.9 Dakota and i am wanting to upgrade the exhaust...I've heard some people say that flowmaster is good and so is dynomax...I have an oppurtunity to get dual exhaust with a dynomax turbo muffler put on for 185 installed and everything. I was just wondering if this would sound good and if anybody has done this and could give me some advise on what to maybe do different.

TIA-
Brandon

are we talking true duals or one in two out?brandon, dual exhaust on the 6'er won't do anymore for perf than a good flowing replacemnt muffler. if you do go duals a lot of people on hear go with a 1 in 2 out muffler. myself, i went the cheap route, cherry bomb super turbo muff. it's got a good low rumble from idle to about 3K rpm, then gets kinda loud. but it works for me. everyone has their own tastes. if i was you i'd try to find sound bybtes(i think flowmaster has some on their webpage) or listen to different truck and form your own opinion. that's what hot-rodding is about- being different.

Yeah its One in Two out basically...Search, i tried to search but it wouldn't finish the search so i just read some here and there and i got pretty much all that i need but nothing that deals specifically with the information i needed...Daddio, how much did your cherry bomb super turbo cost and where did you get it from??

TIA-
Brandon

cost about 20 bucks from JC Whitney.com. i bought the 18" long. they make a couple longer i think. those would prolly be a little quieter. had to buy a couple clamps and short piece of 2.5" exhaust pipe from A/Z. total cost of it all was less than 30 bucks. took less than an hour to do on my back in the driveway.

I have a 97 3.9 auto with a magnaflow replacement muffler...lots louder, not too loud. It's really smooth, unlike the gurgling you get from a flowmaster. It was a heck of alot cheaper too.

I have been very hesitant in getting a flowmaster, but after looking at my budget, i decided it was about my only choice(wanted a gibson). I just got the flowmaster 50 series and couldn't be happier. very inexpensive and has a very nice low rumble. It does have some gurgling like FMX guy said but it's very deep and i think the gurgling sounds nice. I deffinetly won't put a flowmaster sticker up, but im a much bigger fan now than i was before. Really doesn't sound ricey till about 4000 rpms which is a pretty high RPM mark considering the max is 4800.

good thing you didn't go with the gibson. I replced the one I had on my truck because it sounded like crap and was a power robber. I like the flowmaster 70 I replced it with much better.
