I have a 95 3.9L Dakota. It shut down and would not start. After reading many of these forum entries I decided to check that Splice under the fuse panel. Sure enough the wires were seperated. Cleaned everything up and re-soldered the truck started up fine. After about 40 to 50 seconds the truck shut down again. I started it again and it runs for the same period. After doing this for a couple of time's the truck would not start again. If I wait a few hours the truck will do the same thing again.

The truck was sitting, after it broke down, for about 3 months. I though it may be ice in gas or bad gas, so I added Gasline antifreeze and fresh gas. No luck it does the same thing.

No Codes after shutdown.

For the 40 to 50 seconds it runs fine. But it just keeps shutting down. Any Ideas???

Reposted because It went into a unrelated post.

Thanks
Jason

Sounds related to ASD relay .
You might try switching the relays around in that
underhood fusebox - they are all the same type..

It is a fuel problem. Prime the thing it burns the prime and cuts off. Removed the fuel pump and cleaned things up and it started and ran for a while so I shut it off. After the problem came back again.
Removed the fuel line from the pump and the pump does not cut in when I turn the key. Sounds like a pump problem to me. Do you think so? I don't want to buy the pump if it is not that.

Thanks
Jason
