Message: I own a Club Cab '99 w/the 3.9L and I, too, wish I had more HP. I've looked into this, and the answers are bad (at a "cost" standpoint).
First of all, YES, a 5.9L swap is possible and relatively easy (since it is an option in the '97-'04 body styles).
But the problem is, you will need not only the engine (5.9L "R/T" crate engines are in the $5K range) and mounts, but a new tranny as well. The V6's tranny, as I was told by the guy @ the Mopar shop, will not handle the extra power/torque from the V8s. You'll also need new wiring harnesses b/c the V8's have different shift points, red line, etc. and the cpu on the V6 model will just be confused.
By the time you've done all of this, you'd have spent enough cash to put a pretty down-payment on a new [more powerful] vehicle - maybe a HEMI® Ram or '05 Dakota w/the 4.7L-HO! Plus, it would be less work/time for you, too.
Sell your current truck, though, don't do a trade-in; and take any aftermarket parts off (i.e. your supercharger) and sell 'em [E-Bay?] for more cash.
If you want to keep your truck, the best thing to do would go to a junkyard or a "Pull-a-Part" and find a vehicle w/the 5.9 that has a solid block (no cracks) and strip the motor down, and rebuild it from scratch. Go to your local 5-Star dealer (or download the Mopar catalogue from Mopar.com) they make several "kits" for the 5.9 block (the R/T kit is one example) or check around places like Jegs for all the parts (though I'd stick to Mopar parts!) There's also a 406/408 [can't remember which] "stroker" option for the 5.9 - which includes boring it out and adding some extras.
But like I said earlier, cost-wise, it's not a good idea unless your truck's paid-off or you simply just got some sort of attachment to it and don't wanna let go of it!
Hope this info was helpfull...

Message: Thanks for the info.
I know the swap was going to be a lot of money but the truck is pad off and i have a tranny that will hold what the 5.9 will put out so that is one less thin that i need to buy.
I can pick up a 5.9 from mopar for $2300can for a rebilt and about $4200can for a new one.
A new pcu is not to bad running about $600can
I don't think i could trad the truck in i have to much done to it i would need to spend a lot of cash to bring it back to the way it was if i know that i was going to do all this to my truck i would have picked up a R/T but to let now new engine will be the only way to go for my next big mod.

Message: check the salvage yards or www.car-part.com you may be able to find a low mileage 5.9, tranny and PCM.

Go to page 9... there's all you need/want.

Good luck with the swap!
I know what you mean when you say "...if i knew that i was going to do all this to my truck i would have picked up a R/T..." 'cause I've felt the same way about my V6 Dakota; ever since about a month or so after buying it [basically after the "newness" wore-off]. I've learned a valuable lesson, however, which is: if HP and "goin' the fast" are important, getting the most-powerful engine/options OEM are worth the (A) extra money (B) any time it takes to get/save that extra money (C) less money, work, and headache for the owner in the long-run...
Since I'm a piss-broke 22yr-old, there's no way I can afford doing this kind of stuff to my truck (not in the near future anyways) so please - pretty please - hotrod that 5.9 out and make it a badass "stroker," and when you're out gassin' that baby and it's growling back at cha and you're hauling all sorts of ass - think, "Some broke-ass kid in Atlanta influenced me to build a stroker..." :)
All the sappy "pore ol' me" references aside, I hope any/all info I gave was helpfull, and I hope you have yourself a nice lil' hotrod!
