they all give about the same performance but each series sounds different, with 40 being the loudest.

Thanks for your help, 03Kota. Appreciate it.
Hey 00Dak, it took you the same amount of time to be a jerk as it did for 03Kota to offer some help. But I appreciate your time as well. It makes me appreciate 03Kota's response even more. Hope you both have a great day.

I've got a 40 series Flowmaster on my 99 V6 Dak Sport, reg cab auto (same as yours only 2WD) and it sounds great. The 40 series is the loudest, and is definitely worth the money.

40 series Flowmasters sound the best on a Dakota IMO.

Thanks Rivalry. I'm kinda leaning towards the quieter side, but I appreciate all help offered.

Kevin...I'd say if you just want performance, go with the 70 series. From what I've heard, it's similar sounding to the stock muffler. If you want a little noise but not super noisy...go with the 50 series or even the 50 series delta flow. The 40 series original is very loud (sounds awesome in my opinion) inside and out and the delta flow is from what I've heard, loud on the outside and quiet on the inside.

my 50 series delta flow arrives tomorrow. the delta is supposed to be quiet on the inside and have a smooth, tough but not to loud rumble on the outside.

nice price Kevin! i just looked on ebay and the delta flow 50's were about $100. i just paid $125 at a local customizer shop-store in NJ.
i have a 2001 dak 3.9 auto. the transmission shifted roughly at first untill the computer learned and adjusted to the new backpressure. the sound also needed a couple hundred miles then it smoothed out and sounds awesome. the weather here has been cold and crappy so i cant comment on gained power or mileage.
