Subject: Custom Intake Set-Up. Will it Work? IP: Logged
Message: i have a 04 dak with a 3.7 V6. I'm soon going to put a spintech muffler on it and i want an intake too. Since i havent found much for the 3.7 and nothing i liked, i'm deciding to make one. My idea came from my friends Maxima that we a put a cai on. The filter is in the wheel well. I was thinking to do this but with 2 filters one in each wheel well(the driver and passenger). And just run two pipes that go into 1 then to the Throttle Body. I know it might be a little too much for a 3.7 but i think it would work good.

Message: That sounds like it would be awsome. You would have to make sure the tires didn't sling mud and water into the filters. Chrysler made a turbine car with the air intakes in the fenders. They put louvers on the side of the fender so the engine could suck cold air from the sides of the fenders and the filters were under the fenders in a box.I can E-Mail you a picture of it if you want to see it. Message: Man, that's too much work. I'll just wait 'til someone starts making bolt-on intakes. Until then, the drop-in K&N (33-2175) is fine.

Message: I have thought about modifying a cone filter and removing the cap so I can keep the existing intake tube off of the fender for cold air and then using the cone to suck air in from under the hood.
greydak keep us updated on what you decide to do.
