My truck stalls when idling in drive (such as at lights). Usually will sputter and tach will show a drop of 200rpm a few times and then will stall and die. wasn't such a big problem until it wouldn't restart. Also will stall while parallel parking, usually when shift from reverse to drive. Idles fine in park or neutral with only little hiccup and tach will show small drop (50rpm). Recently have replaced air filter, spark plugs, starter and solenoid(went out, not voluntarily) and used Seafoam (www.seafoamsales.com if you are unfamiliar)to clean out system when I hoped this was just a matter of carbon buildup. Suspect oxygen sensor, partially clogged EGR valve, speed distance sensor, distributor pickup,or idle air controller. Have NOT seen decrease in mpg, power, acceleration, shift ability. Poor college student, not a lot of cash to play with in trying to replace these one at a time. Any help is appreciated.

Just had my Idle Air Controller replaced for the same symptoms. Mine would stall when put in reverse. Shop tried cleaning it but had to put new one in, runs better than ever now. Hope this helps. Let us know.

Scrub the build-up out of the throttle body at the same time.
