Okay...it's almost November, and almost time for the white stuff. And up here in OH we get alot of that stuff. Does anyone have any suggestions for traction other than 500lbs of salt in the bed? also, does anyone know where and/or how to get a hard bed cover for a short bed '99? Thanks!

well to tell you the honest truth if you havent got 4wd and you dont want salt in your truck use the white stuff. I live in canada and last winter all I had four old tires, a bed of snow, and a 50 lb bag of absorbant in my truck and I got through more than my buddy with his 4wd ram (I laughed at him for that), one other thing that will help if you got some spare cash around is a limited slip differential, better to have two wheels turning than one, just dont get too happy go lucky and you will get through a good amount of snow before you get stuck

I usually get around 8 bags of sand, and usually keep some kitty litter in the back to throw under the tires if I do get stuck. I live in Ontario, and we get a LOT of snow.

I dont know Dan cause I dont have one but the easiest way to find out is call a couple auto parts stores and see who has what and how much it cost etc. then if they all have the same differential coming from the same company buy the cheapest one and have your mechanic install it. I found that what one store sells they all sell up here in ontario, so I just go into my local area canadian tire and order the part, and have it installed the next day
