Subject: Resetting check engine light IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2001 Dakota and when I reversed the temp sending unit wire my check engine light came on. Even when i reversed the wire again to original position and disconnected the battery the checkengine light was still on. Now the question...how do I reset the check engine light to get it off?

Message: Some people just like to be jack A$$es and not help people when they need help. You can reset your compute 2 ways, you can disconect your battery for a few mins, or if you dont want to loose your radio pre sets you can disconect your computer din plugs (all three) for a few mins. This will reset it but it will have to cycle through every thing befor it can have a chance to check every thing.

Message: you don't have to disconnect all 3 plugs from the pcm. just the one closest to the firewall. unplug for about 15 seconds.
