Subject: 3.7 intake questions IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2004 Dodge Dakota., 3.7 Liter 5 speed. I have a couple of questions. Well the 4.7 liter throttle body fit, and if so could I use the 4.7 liter fipk kit. Does any one have a jet chip for the 3.7 and if so did it help any?

Message: I've been having the same problems. I can't find a thing. I have the same exact truck and the only performance mods I've found is a Gibson exhaust, a Jet performance module(not a chip), and crappy intakes on ebay. If you find anything out email me at kingof2dub@yahoo.com

Message: I can offer some observations, but no diffinitive answers. I was helping a friend test what mods were necessary to get an intake kit in my 3.9L.
He gave me both his companies air 'hat' and tube for the v-8 engines he had already set up. One tube/hat combo was for the 4.7, the other was for the 5.x L engines. The mounting hole size was the same, but the tube for the 4.7 had the breather attachment set up for an airbox on the driver's side, and the tube stuck STRAIGHT out from the throttle body. The setup for the 5.xL engines had the breather attachment set up for the airbox on the passenger side [where it is] and the main tube angled down toward the aibox location. The tube for the 4.7L system would NOT work inside my engine bay, but the set-up for the 5.xL engines did work, with minor trimming of the box to allow for the fender curvature and the air conditioning line.
So, I will not even pretend to know if you should put a 4.7L throttle body on the engine [but I would guess 'no' is what response you'll get the most often], as I would put a 5.xL v-8 throttle body on mine if I were changing it, to get even more air flow. HOWEVER, it seems like the air intake you should get is determined more by where the air box is going to be located than the throttle body, as the opening is the same size for both [but the air 'hat' is MUCH larger, to allow more air to flow into, the 5.xL v-8 air intake kit].
This is NOT gospel, but just my observations from setting mine up. Take it for what it's worth.

Message: Sorry about that. When it comes to chips, performance modules, and reprogrammers I am not a wealth of understanding. Thanks for the advice Jason S.
Well if anyone else has any ideas please help
