Subject: dakota axle fluid capacity?....? IP: Logged
Message: im new to this but my dakota booklet says I need to change my rear axle fluid in the next 1000miles. Anyhow i'm going to purchase amsoil and was wondering whats the capacity of the rear axle? how much do I need to buy..in quarts pints or whatever. also..can I do it myself? like an oil change or ? thank you -Jake

Yes you can do it yourself there is no drain you
must remove cover to drain
Front no gasket black ATV sealer
Rear there is a gasket avalible

Message: 75w-90 will work just fine the syn will also help
gas mileage a little especialy on the 4X4's a big
differance more noticeable in cold weather it
flows better
I run all Amsoil fluids in my trucks never had any
probs
