Subject: fan noise IP: Logged
Message: Only recently, I'm hearing a clanging noise coming from the fan blades while engine is running and the fan seems loose with some play when it is rotated - what kind of repairs am I looking at?

Message: Just take it off, it makes the engine quieter at start ups and some people will say it frees up Hp and improves gas millage but its not noticalble. I've had mine off for close to a year and its never even gotten close to over heating even on the hot days.

Message: had the truck over at the shop today - no question, fan clutch failed (wobbly). Since I'm in TX and typically put 500 - 1000 miles a week of highway miles, gonna ask the mech about only removing the part or replacing it is better. Thanks to all for the replys ......
