Message: Any one heard of a 3.9 stroker? Is it even possible? Would a bored and stroked powerplant even be worth attempting if I was already considering a rebuild?

Message: $1800 for just the crankshaft. No pistons, rods, block work, installation, nothing. Only bring it up to about 4.5 liters with stock bore (crank I was asking about anyways.) Most say not worth it. If you got the money, most will say "Swap for a V8". Personal preference I guess.

Message: cbsdakota, did you ever find that site on the custom cranks, I looked and cant.
So you guys know swapping for a V8 most likely will cost quite a bit more than a 1800 crank.
First you have to buy a V8, junkyard probably anywhere from 1000 up.
Then you have to put in a whole new wiring harness and pcm, that'll be about 500 up then you'll have to redo your exaust from the manifolds down, at least a couple of hundred, and all thats for a stock V8 which I have a feeling a 4.5 V6 would be able to beat.
If you figure a 3.9 has 175 and a 4.3 (Chebby) has 190 then a 4.5 should be somewhere in the 200 range and its lighter than a V8 and revs up faster.
Just my point of view, hope I dont piss someone off again like Idid in "3.9"

Message: Ahaaa! I found this in my saved mail folder. Thought I had it saved on my old computer. I had to email the guy to get info and this was his response. I was asking about a 3.9" stroke which I think with the stock bore would put you around 4.5 liters. You may be able to go bigger. Anyways:
Thank You for your interest in www.strokerkits.com The only crankshaft is a
custom billet that runs around $1800.00 the piston will have to be custom
made also if you are interest I will get a full price for the kit. If you
have any other questions or concerns just give us a call at 636-946-4747 or
E-mail us at alliedmo@swbell.net
Thanks
Jason
Hope this helps. Sorry it took me so long to find right under my nose. Before anyone goes off and orders one of these puppies, check on a group buy of sorts even for just 5 or so, with and without the pistons. I would almost slap down the old credit card for the right price!

Message: Very good price for a V8 Mag worth using.
I checked around here for months and couldnt come close to any at that price unless they had 200K or more on em. And I,m not paying all that money for magnafluxing, it just brings the price right back up to a lower miliage one.
Jolly good show cbsdakota!!!!
I knew you'd come thru for me!!
I will let all of you know how it goes.
Thanks, Scott

Message: Wow, a 4.5L Stroker V6...
Hmm...
Darnit, I was thinking about replacing my truck entirly in 2003-04, but this has me thinking... Might be a lot of fun to pull my truck apart and build it back as a stroker. Someone let me know if they do this?
Yeah, get a nice gear-drive timing unit, roller rockers, mildish cam, higher performance bearings, stronger rods and pistons, stroker custom crank, get the heads done, better valve springs, and modify the intake. That'd be nice...
Expensive, but nice. :0)
