UNTAPE the wires, check ALL the wiring, make sure they are the same colors(it is probably in your illumination that you are having problems with). Just my 3.90 cents~ LOL

Message: A friend of mine had a gen 2 dak that had the same problem after he put in a new cd player. The problem was with one of the lighting wires. Check all the wires and make sure they are correct. As for finding the fuse, isnt there a fuse box near the battery also.

Message: i had an 87 ram and had the same problem. try running your ground wire for the cd player to one of the grounding studs under the dash. the one you hooked it up to is probably the dash light wire for the factory radio. i did that and had no more problems afterwards.

Message: You're right natedogg. The trick is not to use the negative ground from the wire harness. I used a chassis ground, replaced a fuse, and i am all set.

Message: i am late reading this post but , if you look at the harness there is no ground in it that is what the steel cable with the 10mm bolt on the back of the stock radio is for,
but i am glad your problem is solved.

Message: Brayden - Your dash lights ARE white, it's a paint
on the gauges that make it the color it is.
How to change the color - would be to get a gauge
face set that's the color choices you want, and
replace the current gauge fronts with that set.
For the various "idiot lights", you'll need to
change the translucent icon with one that's the
color you want.
