Has anyone had any problems with the door locks? Mine have recently started making this awful noise when I put the truck in park and shut it off. It sounds like a grinding sound. It's very loud and yucky.
It also does it when i unlock the door with my remote.
Does anyone know what it is that needs to be fixed, and do i have to go to the dealer for it, or can i have my buddy fix it at his garage?

Thanks for any help...

Sounds like door lock actuator failure for that "loud and yucky noise". ;-) Most commonly repaired by replacing the door latch of the affected door. I think I have seen on this site that someone has found actuators available without buying a latch assembly.

So is this something that has to be done at the dealer? Or can you get the parts from NAPA or something?

It's a common failure... I sell the door locks for $75 each shipped.
