Message: Had corroded pins for cylinders 2,3,and 5. Wires looked OK but were replaced, and I was able to clean the pins up without replacing the cap. Anyone else have this prob at 67K on the V6? Did I wait too long to check it out? Most miles are highway and it's an '01

Message: What's the problem? Corroded contacts in the distributor cap? That's not that big of a deal. Replace it.
Do you have another symptom of any kind? If not, drive it dude...it's fine.

Message: When I bought my 92 Dak last year, the center pin (coil) was horribly corroded (aluminum), but the rest were fine. I had still gotten 20 mpg driving from FL to MA. Changed it out, no difference in performance. These engines can run OK even when neglected.
