The Magnum engines were created many years ago

383 magnum 440 magnum
4bl carbs, hotter cams, forged rods and crank
higher comp and more hp

Pre mag 3.9
flat tappets
rocker shafts
milder cams

3.9 mag
roller lifters
single stude mount rockers
hotter cam
better flowing heads

The mag engines high performance

Im pretty sure they stoped making non-mag engines a long time ago. You have a magnum. I have a 98 Dak with a 3.9l Magnum V6. I think from like mid-90's on up are all mags, not positive though.
