Subject: Clocked a 18.45 @ 74 mph IP: Logged
Message: I went to Hawaii Raceway Park the other night and clocked a 18.45 @ 74 mph w/1.1 sec reaction time, then an 18.50 @73 mph w/ 1.2 sec. reaction. I know I'm a slow 4x4, but this was my first time racing and I just wanted to do before and after times for stock and later with Perf. Parts. I got better throughout the night reaction wise but the damn auto trans wouldn't shift when in WOT so I kept gettin rev limited until I let go of the gas. Any one know why its doing this? The times my trans f'ed up i got 20.2 & 20.0! :(

Message: Try not going all the way to WOT right off the
line. If i am hearing you correctly it sounds like
you a re getting a "stuck" point in your shift
point. Ease into the gas, i mean get on it but
dont throw it to the floor. WOT throws the
computer into Open Loop operation allowing
for little adjustment (including shift point, TPS,
Crank and cam position), if you can delay this
a bit your shift point should be smoother and
around 42-4500 rpm. Just ease into the gas
and it should improve quite a bit youll feel it
pull harder for longer into the rpm range. It
sounds contradictory to not step on it right off
the line bc it seems that you would get the
most power but with the auto trans and efi
thats just not the case. Let us know how it
works out for you.

Message: I was reading in an old Mopar Now mag and I think I have found your problem.
Ehrenberg says to get a Mopar perf. controller and it'll raise your shift points but the real problem is a bad governor pressure switch, they explaind the exact same problem your having and said thats it. Problem was known to occur in 96-98's with 42,44,46 and 47RE's
The part# is 56041403AA
Good luck, Scott
