Message: they're set up to temporarily stop sending "spark", raw fluid is then sent through the engine/exhaust system... it's then lit off as it comes out the tail pipe(s). The main downside is the "washing down" of the cylinders (raw fuel)... cylinder lubrication is a good thing.

Message: I think there are also kits that involve a propane tank and it injects propane out your tailpipe and there's a spark plug at the end that ignites it...sounds a lil easier on your engine than the previously mentioned method. A dude at our school had one on his Mazda RX-7 and somebody parked directly behind him while he was showing it off and he caught their car on fire. Kinda funny seeing the fire dept. having to respond to that one and I bet he felt really stupid having to explain what happened.

Message: This would be great for driving in NY. I wonder if there's laws against lighting up a tailgaitor? Normally I just slam on the brakes.
