Anyway - sounds like an electrical problem..
Check ASD relay and the wiring around it..
May be a good idea to clean battery posts and
all connectors that you can see in the main
heavy cables..

Message: Check all your grounds
kick pannel pass side remove, than bolt and sand
between dash and cab put bolt back in
A bad ground will make all guages act strange
Also check your fuel presure when it don't start

Message: I replaced the CPS on my 95 V6 and the thing ran fine for 6 to 8 months. It has since failed again and I have another CPS on order to try. Is there any way to test the sensor? and is there anything that will cause to sensor to go?

Message: I would check the connection for the ASD thats in the harness underneath the fusebox under the hood,On my '94 V6 that was the problem...the splice had corroded and broken in two, engine would turn over but thats it,before it spit the bit though all of the gauges were jumping & flickering..theyre steady now. Hope this helps.
Also for whats its worth, the first thing that I replaced was CPS...nothing..took it back & got a refund.Check the wiring under the fusebox thats under the hood...That should fix your problem.
