Message: I think you can but it will cost you! MSD ignition overhaul (Coil, Distributor, wires, cooler plugs, bigger gap) Lose the clutch fan and go electric, get performance headers, get Hi-flow cat and dual cat back exhaust be sure to get the hi-flow y-pipe or you wasted money on headers, ram air intake (K/N filter on all of your trucks fellas), Colder t-stat, Advance timing, superchip, V-8 throttle body, high flow oil filter, performance fuel injectors, cheater tires, and lose weight. Lots of places to drop weight off the truck like speakers, spare tire, run with near empty fuel, lose A/C compressor, get rid of the camper shell and tail gate, use lighter battery, lighter rims, Fiber glass hood, stuff like that. Pull out tools, jack and other clutter from the trunk, go to bare bucket seats that weigh less and enhance safety. (Hmmm) Install underdrive pulley. That should get you close. I think (prepare to flame me, I got the extinguisher built in to the monitor), I said I'm thinking that 'chargers and NO2 is for h0m0s. Call me so I can drive it too.
Then consider transmision and diff mods, bore and stroke mods, camshaft, rocker and other head mods, chip software upgrade, dual exhaust slapped on a 360 (bored and stroked to 410 (i think?)) , No emission crap, performance fuels, Four barrel holly carburator Six Pack MOPar Mutha Funkin AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. (Heart attack) Seriously, Build power by getting lighter and improving each of the main components of Ass hauling-Fuel, Ignition, and Air/Intake/exhaust in logical steps or levels. Get a Mopar performance catalog and read up. Isn't that stuff online now? Anyway, that stuff just before the h0m0 comment should get you pretty close before tearing into the motor for deeper power building.

Message: i realize you said your new to this so don't take this the wrong
way
is it possible to bore it .030 over?
you want to bore your block just for a few ponies? overkill !
if you REALLY want to keep up in that 6 of yours, get a
supercharger or nitrous, it's the only real way to make a lot of
horses, buying every little 5 here 5 there pony mod is ridiculous,
it won't get the job done and it will break your bank account

Message: ok ,so with all of the stuff that ChimChim metioned, what kind of numbers would I be looking at then? I want some where around 250 horsepower, and from what you guys are saying it isnt possible to get that from a naturally aspirated v6 mag?

Message: 300+ hp with a 360 ($3500 plus cost for components - intake, computer, accessories, t/c, mounts, hardware). Supercharger costs $3100 and needs baggage too. it might take your 180 hp V-6 abit past 250 hp with no other mods. I'll take the new v-8 magnum crate engine over the bolt on h0m0 supercharger any day. Then build onto that with all the performance options at mopar performance when I need more power. So you decide if the hp gained per dollar spent for gay bolt on tricks is for you. But to answer the question: yes it is possible to challenge the 250 hp mark naturally aspirated for about the cost of the 360 ci magnum. BUT you easily push over 300 hp just with the new v-8 and you dont need to keep buying nitrous-oxide or a new hood to store that "rediculous" charger.
