Subject: Pop/Clunk When Reversing IP: Logged
Message: I have a '98 V6 Dakota that I'm having a problem with. Whenever I go in reverse I hear a loud popping/clunking type noise from the front driver's side wheel. It happens after reversing for about 5-10 ft. and happens more often when turning right and going in reverse. I've noticed that a large suspension-related plate (unsure of name) that is visible in the engine bay moves suddenly whenever the noise happens. I've taken off the wheel and cannot see anything that is obviously broken. Some of the bushings are a bit cracked and worn but I would very much appreciate it if anyone could help me with this problem. Please let me know if any further information is required. Thanks in advance.
