Subject: cruise control stopped

i was driving along this morning on my way to school and my cruise control all of a sudden went out . i checked the fuse and what not everything still good i checked the vacuum hose and from what i could tell no leaks. on my way home today i noticed something peculiar i tried to set it and it would not set but i had pressed the on and set button .well i took my foot off the gas and it set for about 5 seconds then turned off again. any help would be greatly appreciated. sorry if you cant understand the post that damn texas education. thanks alot

check the brake light switch. try this, as you try to set the cruise pull UP on the brake pedal, if it works the brake light switch is out of adjustment.

Or a hole in the vac pot

follow cable back to fire wall big round object

put a hose on it suck put your tounge over hose
and see if it holds (poor mans vac pump)

a small hole it will enguage for a while than
kick out

speed sensor, brake switch check connections on
these and cruse controll

Check the wiring harness in the steering column, there is a plug that tends to work loose, right at the bottom of the column under the lower cover.

and see if it holds (poor mans vac pump". I laughed so hard I bout fell out of my chair, you may be a mechanic by profession. There is a little bit of shade tree mechanic in your methods. I'm not sure I would of ever thought of using my tongue with a hose as a vacume gauge, it sounds like it would work pretty good.



92 and 97 Daks both with many mods.
