Message: when you changed your tire diameter you changed your gear ratio making it harder for your truck to push itself along, the only way you can pick that back up is go back to stock size or re-gear

Message: your MPG may not be as bad as you think. when I switched from 195/75/15 to 31/10.5/15's It threw off my speedometer & odometer by around %15. therefor, I was travelling %15 more distance than the odometer stated. try figuring out if your speedo/odo is off and add that distance to your MPG calculation. the ratio change you made will affect your city more than highway

Message: The superchips programmer should allow you to calibrate for bigger tires.
However, I don't think that the speedo being off is most of your loss. My Dakota also has the 255/65/16 tires in it. They measure approx 28.5 inces tall. From this it is known that circumferance of the tires is approx 89.5 inches. If you gained 1.5 inches in height with the taller tires you gained aprrox 4.7 inches in the circumferance of the tires on your truck. That means that the tires are 5.3% bigger around than they were before, which means that your speedo is off by 5.3% (at 55 mph on your speedo you are really going about 57.9 mph). This shows that for every 100 miles you travel, you have really gone 105.3 miles. This does not account for all the mpg loss that you have seen on your truck.
The programmer may help you get back some of your mpg. Maybe someone that has done this will share with you.
Sorry for the strange responce. I am a science/math geek
Good luck
