 Subject: high pitch sound

I have this high pitched sound coming from my engine compartment, I think from the fan area. Its not the belt because that is new, but I really have no idea what it is. Can someone help.

Well, i have a buddy that has a 69 Chevy, and he has a loud high pitch sound come from the fan. Is it the stock fan in it, because they have special fans for racing that kinda have a high pitch noise to it. That was with the chevy. I hope I was of some help.

Tensioner, Idler, air pump, fan clutch, or loose v-belts are all likely suspects and you should try to find and fix the noise because any of these parts failing will cause a bigger headache.
