Message: Hey guys here is a wierd one for you. I have a 2000 dakota 3.9 with almost no modiications. Since I had towed a small single axle trailer, I seem to have a semi-metalic noise (kind of sounds like something is rattling around in the engine compartment) It is best descibed as a metalic creaking under the hood everytime the engine is straining. It will occur under heavy acceleration, when hauling a small amount of weight, or when climbing steep hills. The noise is definately related to engine strain and will not occur under normal driving conditions. It almost sounds like either the heat guard for the exaust manifold or the manifold itself is loose, but the dealer says it is fine (not that I trust them). The truck is still under warenty, so I really can't take the motor apart to find out, and the damn dealer can't find anything wrong superficially. thanks for any help you can give.

Message: Motor Mounts? I'm just guessing that maybe when the motor is torquing the fan my touch something or just tweaking something...maybe its a bad mount
