Subject: 3.9 interchange IP: Logged
Message: I am wondering what years are interchangable. I have a 95 dakota with 210,000 mile and am looking for a different motor, and not sure what years were the same.

Message: 92 to 95 same
96 to 02 but you need to use the EGR type intake
manifold off your 95 the rest of the motor is the
same
You can also bolt a 318 or 360 right in just add
the #17 & 18 pins to the comp plug for injecters
17 = #7 injecter
18 = #8 injecter and pick up the ground on each
side.
comp pins are numbered as follows
TOP
41--------60
21--------40
1---------20
Bottom

Message: Larry, you can use the V6 computer with a V8 by just adding those two pins? I haven't decided on a V8 or not yet, but I have one of the few V6 perfomance PCM's and it would be nice to be able to convert it to a V8 PCM

Message: One more quick question. After looking around on here it seems that the v8 swap won't work in a 1st gen 4x4. Is this correct?
