Subject: 97 Dakota wont start IP: Logged
Message: Hi All,
Here is my problem. My dakota wont start. The engine turns over, but nothing. I think its the fuel pump, but I want to make sure that I tried everything else because this is a big job. Here is what I have tried.
1- Checked batt. ok
2- Checked relays ok
3- Checked voltage at fuel pump relay and ASD relay. Both 12v
4-Checked for pressure on fuel rail- nothing
5- Checked spark on plugs ok
I read somwhere about checking some wires that come together (3) for corrosion etc. Should I check these or is it the fuel pump?
Any help would be greatly appreciated....

Message: If it is the fuel pump, I read a few threads where some people just cut into the fuel line coming from the gas tank and installed an inline electric fuel pump rather than taking apart the gas tank.
