Subject: Engine Over-revving
IP: Logged

Message:
I have a 97 Dakota. On the weekend I had to replace the WaterPump because the bearing went and it was spewing all of my anti-freeze on the ground. After completing this job, it seems like the choke is stuck on, the engine seems to idle normally, but the minute I touch the gas the engine revs at least 1500 rpm higher than normal. I've checked and double checked my work, it doesn't appear to have any cables hung up. The thermostat in the truck reads normal temperature. Is there an electric choke of some sort on this truck?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sean
