Subject: Trans won't shift IP: Logged
Message: Today my truck was not shifting into fourth gear at all, or overdriver gear. The truck is a 93 Dakota Sport with the 3.9 liter V6. The truck trans has good amsoil fuild and has been maintained every 30,000 miles. This difference is very noticable when driving at 55 doing about 2600 RPM when I usually do about 1850 RPM. Could this be moisture? How can it be fixed? I have heard it could be just a connection.

Message: Often the O/D solenoid will fail, or the assembly comes loose from the valve body, causing a fluid leak internally around the solenoid. When that happens, it won't shift into O/D. Sometimes you can drop the pan and tighten the 3 screws holding the solenoid assy to the valve body, put it back together and it will work.
