Subject: CAT reccomendations? IP: Logged
Message: I've finally been busted for running my truck with no Catalytic converter. Since I'm going to have to live with one I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on one that is functional yet that is the least restrictive possible. I have a 92 3.9L Ext Cab with the following hardware:
* 1.7:1 SS Crower Rollers
* +.030" KB Silvo pistons yielding ~ 9.5:1 CR
(calculated with .025" head mill)
* stock cam
* stock 42RH w/stock conv.
* 3.51 diff
* 19# FMS injectors
* MSD6A w/8680 timing control
* DynoMax cat-back system
* (2x48mm throttle body and JBA 1 1/2" hedders
planned by FEB '05).
Anybody have any ideas about the best CAT to use or experience with a similar combo? I can't afford to stuff a 360 into the truck....yet, so I'm trying to squeeze as much as possible out of the little V6

Message: Carsound high flow
sold at truckperformance.com for around $80
they are a slip fit
Just buy 2 clamps cut the old 1 out leaving 3"
1 1/2 each end for the slip fit from overall
length of new converte
Cut slip 1 1/2 into the ends clamp and go
The catco's require welding
Quickest and esiest way to go

Message: If you already bought it, then disgard this message...
Hedman Hedders High-Flow CAT - cost was ~90.00 US. 33% more flow over stock, and it won't crap out early like the stock ones...
Peace!
