Subject: exhaust flanges IP: Logged
Message: Is there supposed to be a gasket between the exhaust manifold and the pipes where the flanges draw them together? Or just the flare and the "donut" to seal it off? I'm leaking on both sides and am not sure why.

A flair on the y-pipe they just go togather with
no gasket just draw them up evenly and they will
seal very well
The stock exh manifolds also have no gasker its
a mating metal surface

Message: Thanks Larry. I was trying to mate my 93 pipes to the manifold on the 97 engine I put in. The holes in the 93 manifolds are bigger, so I had to swap the manifolds off my old engine. I like the bigger ones better anyway. Thanks again.
