Subject: cold weather perfmor. IP: Logged
Message: Was just wondering, has anyone had to remove any mods due to colder weather? I have a flowmaster 50 on and K&N drop in with JBA wires and brass cap and rotor. Also had the TPS at .75. Now that it has gotten colder, my truck just doesn't run that great. I put the TPS back to factory and took out the K&N. Would this muffler affect my running performance for the worse? It's 2.5 in and 2.5 single out and straight out the back. I've only had the flow on since May 2004 and it was warm then and ran good but now it sucks. Anyone experience anything similar? I didn't really gain anything with the mods so i'm putting back to factory but want to know if this muffler would make things worse without any other mods to compliment it. thanks

Message: It should run stronger in colder weather
none of the mods you did would effect this
You have something else going on there like a
bad temp sensor or o2
All these motors run better colder do to the
timming advance and more fuel the cold air adds

Message: hey, would it be a bad idea to run 180 thermostat in cold winter weather of new england.. from what i gather it will take longer to warm up and get heat in cab, and it will be worse for the enigne running it cold all the time.

Message: If your temp drops to 30 and below don't run the
180
A reg stant 195 will run 185 your org 195 is a
mettered flow design and runs 195 200
The comp needs to see at least 170 or it will trip
the running to cold code the 180's run 168 to
172 in 30 degree weather
