Message: This seems to be a very common problem with the high hp/torque 3.9, especially if you have installed a TB spacer. I would suggest that you install a narrowed Dana rear with 4.56 gears.

Message: no need to swap axles. just find yourself a nice locker or limited slip differential and install it. if the ring gear is bad you might need to find a new one of those. but if its the spiders then go with the locker....makes two nice black marks instead of one....

Message: PowerTrax around $400
your 00 will need the 29 spline unit
No more spider gears
We install a lot of these and the guys love them
Just pull the cover
remove pin
push axles in remove c clips pull out about a foot
remove spiders and axle gears
install powertrax (read directions)
install new pin cover fill and enjoy 2 wheels
with power to both
You do not need to remove carier or set any
backlash very easy install an hour or 2
We run the Amsoil syn 80w90 or 75w90 with the
units and none have ever failed yet

Message: If you get the powertrax no-slip, u won't notice that it's there. It's very quiet and locks automatically when needed and unlocks for turns. I had both no-slip and lockright from powertrax. The no-slip was by far, the best of both cuz it's quiet and hardly noticeable. The lockright can be noticed when you hit the gas or turn, and especiallly backing up but that's locked 100% of the time. It's definately worth your money and i'll bet that you can't break it ;)

Message: so is the powertrax a true locker... or is it gona open up when the elevation on either side is different... because i know that the detroit locker i looked at is a true locker but it uses a pretty big psi pump
