Message: Try ebay. just type in Dodge dakota on the search and all sorts of stuff comes up for it. Do you want the stripes or like a big ram head? Either way, I have seen both on ebay

Message: Look in the yellow pages under sign shops for a shop that does vinyl signs. They will probably be able to scan whatever you want and cut it out for you on their computerized vinyl cutter, then apply it or tell you how to do it yourself.

Message: you might want to think twice before putting a decal on paint. i had one on my front windowshield at the top of a little ram head. it is always in direct sun and in about a couple months it looks terrible. i had to scrap it off and then use brake cleaner to get off the sticky stuff. on paint though you cant use the brake cleaner cause it would eat up the paint, so i think you might want to get it air brushed if you really want to keep it up there and not fade. that was also you can wax it with the rest of your paint to keep it looking nice. just a though...

Message: Automotive or outdoor grade vinyl doesn't fade, most graphics on vehicles now days are vinyl and it's a heck of a lot easier to remove than paint if you choose to.Just use a hair dryer to help soften the artwork, peel off, then use bug and tar remover to clean up remaining adheasive.Paint is PERMANENT.

Message: Next tyme try wd-40 or "goof off" instead of
brake cleaner (it removes paint).
After removing my Dakota SPORT decal. they
are now ghost decals, faded paint around em
shows where the decal used to be.
Whats the solution?

Message: Alan, you are right, but still if it is something i really want on my truck and in a large area like the hood then i would do for paint. plus when you get sick of it just repaint it, less hassle, just more money. but for something longterm go with paint. for short term go with decal. also people like to key up cars with custom stuff so the paint would be better that way, can just wax it. decals you have to go through the hassle of stripping them and then replacing them. just a thought.
Teamfast, yes it would be stupid to use brake cleaner on the paint. i used it on the windshield. still i couldnt put a decal on my paint. maybe it is only my opinion. thanks guys!
