Subject: dual exhaust question IP: Logged
Message: if i got a dynomax super turbo muffler and had a y pipe after the muffler would it sound any different or the same cause i like the look of dual exhaust but don't want it to sound bad

Message: You can do that or get a dynomax with 2 outlets
but stay 2 1/4 2 1/8 on the tails,
Any good muff shop can bend the tails for around
$100
Just a little deeper more seporated rap sound with
duels, have a lot of customers running the setup

Message: the only dynomax with a dual out i could find is a 3" in 2.5" dual out and my pipe is 2.5" would a y pipe do the same thing

Message: Dynomax has a 2.5" inlet with dual 2.5" outlets at Summit for 51.88. Part#WLK-17758, I just put one on my 94.

Message: i work at a meineke and own a 97 dodge dak 3.9 i ran a flowmaster40 series original flow 3 inch inlet dual 2.5 inch outlet and bent the pipe myself and it sounds awesome any good muffler shop shopuld be able to make an adapter peice to bump the 2.5 inch original pipe to fit the three inch opening that is what i did

Exactly what to do you can also buy the reducers
from almost any parts store
3" to 2 1/2"
on the tails
2 1/2" to 2 1/4"
They do sound good as I said a deep more seporated
sound when a dynomax or flowmaster 50 is used the
flowmaster 40 is just a little to loud
