Message: Hey BraggDak....I wanna see your STOCK! 3.9
beat his 3.7. He can granny shift and still kick
a 3.9s azz.
BTW Intense39 he really needs slicks...his
first time was like a 16.4 and he got it down to
a 16.1
If he had slicks he might pull a 15.9 or so!

Message: I've had two other Dakotas other than this one (1996 V6 5sp / 1999 V6 5sp) and I can honestly say that neither of the two stock for stock would hold up to my 3.7L at all. As with anything though I guess there are always exceptions to the rule.

Message: STOCK???? LOL!!!!! Everyone knows stock 3.9 is a dog, but with about 300.00 dollars in it, it would beat the snot out of 3.7......come on down to fayetteville, i'll race you anytime.....

Message: i think the point was stock their braggdako. He said his STOCK 3.7 ran a 16.1. There are probably no genIII's that can do that and maybe a few genII's.
since you have not spoken of a track time, i am willing to bet you have not been.
go see what your truck does for $300
(now watch, he'll probably have some track numbers now)

Message: hey intense aren't you the moron who has all kinds of mods in his kota and ONLY runs a 14????? After spending all that money you'd think you would run a bit faster.. No i have a better Idea why don't you let Bernd rip you off somemore...Track times??? I don't have to post sh*t to you morons I know what i can run, and its better then a 14 (With some MODS of course). But like i said i'll put my title up if anyone wants to race me......

Message: If i can put 300.00 worth of mods in to my 3.7L,
then i wiould only have a CAI, and we all know
that all that does is give it a nice sucking
noise.
ohh, and BTW i have a friend that has a 97
Extended Cab 3.9 kota, i raced him and by the
time i hit 60mph i was a little more than a truck
length on him.
I am not ragging on the 3.9, it is a good
reliable engine, but for the power to weight
ratio. I just cant hold up to the new school

Message: My 3.9 is moddified, I can run a 15.3 with a open 3.23 rear end. If I switch to a POSI with 3.90's, I will easily be below 15. I am also looking into some type of boost.

... and my truck ran a 13.52 @ 103 with 3.55 gears and a peg leg.
i am sure you are doing better than 14's because you beat your neigbors Kia.. take it to the track and get a reality check buddy.

I can add mods to my Dak and make it faster too but that's not the point.

Message: i really didnt mean to piss some people off, by posting my track time. But i guess i have and for that i am sorry. All i am trying to say is that the 3.7L has got some real power, even if it is smaller than the 3.9L
I am really happy with the way my truck peformes. I did get my truck weighed and it is sad 3750lb that is almost ass heavy as my friends 99 RC 318 auto. With me in the truck bumpes it up to 3980 or so.
And if i am doing it right the power to weight ratio is somewhere around 17lb per one Hp....

Message: Jeremy's truck empty weight weighs in @
3700 lbs. For that his power to rate ratio is like
17.6 lbs/hp. My 94 dakota almost had 20
lbs/hp and it was pretty decent running truck!
My 318 empty weight weighs in @ 3800 lbs
and weighs a lil over 4k with me in it. Now tht
truck is a pig but Jeremy's STOCK 3.7 w/
3.92s and suregrip can probably hold a 15.9
with some slicks.
Wen we raced at Praire Hill Dragway off the
line I Immediatly jumped at least a half a truck
and still pulled through the quuarter but for the
3.7 and 5 speed he took off damn good. He
feathered the clutch at around 3k rpms and
the puppy moved!
Sad thing is I raped a 97 3.9 with my 94 3.9
both auto and both had same mods and My
3.9 still got its azz handed to me when I raced
Jeremys truck stock and he was still learning
how to race a 5 speed.
I give his ruck credit for beating the hell out of
spots cars even if they are V6s. He beat a auto
5.0 from a roll in first gear. Thats pretty
impressive. But if they make HO intake and
cams for his truck, I might be a little worried
that my V8 will still be at the top of the food
chain vs. his V6. He will prolly run even or very
close to me in the quarter. Those engines
have some serious potential and are very
good boost engines!
