I tried a search on this forum, but found nothing on my problem.
The heater in my truck gives very warm air, but not HOT air.
I have a 195 thermostat and heat gauge reads about one third the way up on the scale.
I tested the temp with a radiator thermometer and it read 190 degrees.
The weather is getting cold and the cab is warm but not as hot as I would like it.
My 1985 Plymouth Reliant's heater will blast you out of the car it gets burning hot.
And the radiator temp in that car is also 195 degrees.
Both upper and lower heater hoses are very hot to the touch on my truck.
Could the slider control on the dash have something to do with this?
If there is some adjustment for the heater slider under the dash, perhaps someone can tell me how to pump out more heat from it.
I don't want to put cardboard over the radiator.
Thanks, sorry for the long post.

Have you tried flushing the heater core? There is a step by step process on this webpage somewhere, so a search on flushing heater core and it may help.

Thanks mhall02, I found the post that Dan posted on backflushing, I will do it this weekend.
Everything from the radiator, water pump and hoses seem to be origional.
Origional spring type hose clamps on heater hoses.
Coolant is very clean though.
Thanks again.
