Subject: stock muffler IP: Logged
Message: Last week I had the dealer put in a new cat on my truck, Now im trying to get off the stock muffler so I can put on the Dynomax that I bought, I took off the clamps and pounded the crap out of it, this muffler will not come off, am I missing somthing?

Message: the thing is almost a press fit on the exhaust/tail pipes. I had to use a die grinder with a small cut-off wheel to make several cuts (4 cuts each) parallel to the pipes, through the muffler inlet/outlets, then pry the split sections away to allow the pipes tp separate. BE CAREFULL you do not want to cut into the exhaust/tail pipes if at all possible.

Message: I used a dremmel tool to cut mine off. I would recomend the cut-off wheels that are reinforced with nylon (they sell them at homedepo).
