 Subject: 4K rev limiter?

My friend has a 90 dak 2wd auto v6. In gear during acceleration it hits a rev limiter at 4000 rpm. Red line is at 5200rpm. Is there a sensor or switch causing this? I know several new cars and trucks won't rev past 3K or 4K in park.

I have an 88 2wd v6 auto ist gear is set at 4000 and 2nd and 3rd is 4300 so your stuck there until you go carbed which then you just need to upgrade to a v8 like me. any question contact me at Monnoracing@yahoo.com ttyl Ryan
